Atelier d’architecture autogérée (AAA) R-Urban: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Von Atelier d'architecture autogérée (AAA) /  Steiner, Evelyn

In 2001, Constantin Petcou and Doina Petrescu founded Atelier d’architecture autogérée (AAA), an interdisciplinary network that examines the cultural, social, and political aspects of urban phenomena. Alongside their theoretical inquiries, Petcou and Petrescu, both originally from Romania, develop practical projects for selforganizing, interdisciplinary teams. Focusing on issues like resource scarcity, unemployment, and pollution, these teams work to develop alternatives to topdown governmental interventions. By involving the local population in planning, AAA practices a social and participatory form of architecture.
