BASEhabitat. Designed in Linz – Built in India

Von BASEhabitat /  Sturm, Philipp

The Kunstuniversität Linz has Austria’s smallest architecture school and a growing reputation in solar architecture, building ecology, and contemporary wood and earth construction. Roland Gnaiger, the director of the department, founded the project studio BASEhabitat to initiate and carry out the department’s undertakings. With a slate of hands-on building projects, the studio enables students to combine theory with practice, and to work both in technological and artistic spheres. With their work, they hope to create long-term quality-of-life improvements in disadvantaged regions.
