The Chair of Design and Spatial Design (Prof. Dipl.-Ing. ETH Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge) in the Department of Architecture at TU Darmstadt is offering a position as a Research Associate (W/M/D) (60% of full-time) starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to a duration of three years. The application deadline is April 7, 2025.
Responsibilities - Main areas of work are:
• Participation in research activities within the field of design and spatial design.
• Contribution to teaching in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, including the documentation of these activities on digital platforms, in publications, or through exhibitions.
• Conceptualization and application for third-party funding and research projects.
• Collaboration in the preparation of teaching materials and departmental publications.
• Involvement in organizational tasks (supervision of students, presentations, lectures, excursions)
Your profile:
• A completed academic degree (Master’s/Dipl.-Ing.) in architecture, along with relevant professional experience.
• Strong conceptual design skills and a well-founded architectural judgment.
• Experience and interest in interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary collaboration with other fields of knowledge.
• Enthusiasm for scientific work and research projects.
• Didactic skills, including communication, motivation, and creativity.
• Ability to work in an organized and structured manner.
• Proficiency in standard software tools, including relevant graphic and drawing software, as well as a good command of written and spoken English.

Current Projects:
AKA_ - Experimental Space for Collective Learning: The AKA_ project involves the student-led AKA_team, which is currently designing and transforming a former mechanical engineering hall at TU Darmstadt into an interdisciplinary learning space.
DELTA: Following a design studio organized by the Chair, the DELTA-Forum has been realized as a design-build project. It will serve as a research space for the DELTA project, supporting the communication and presentation of project goals at TU Darmstadt's Lichtwiese campus.
