In the Department of Architecture, the Chair of Design and Interior Design (Prof. Dipl.-Ing. ETH Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge) is offering two positions as a research assistant (W/M/D) with 60% of regular working hours beginning on 15.10.2024. One of the offered positions is limited to 3 years (reference no. T261-2024) and one to replace a parental leave is limited to 30.06.2026 (reference no. 239-2024). The application deadline for both positions is 13.09.2024.
Responsibilities - Main areas of work are:
• Participation in research activities in the subject area
• Participation in the teaching of the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, as well as their documentation on digital platforms, in publications or exhibitions
• Conception and application for third-party funding and research projects
• Collaboration in the editing of teaching materials and publications of the department
• Contributions to the organization (supervision of students, presentations, lectures, excursions)
Your profile:
• Completed academic degree (Master's/Dipl.-Ing.) in architecture and qualified practical professional experience
• Strong conceptual design skills and sound architectural judgment
• Experience and interest in interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary collaboration with related fields of knowledge
• Interest in scientific work and research projects
• Didactic skills (communication, motivation, creativity)
• Structured work and organizational skills
• IT skills in the usual software as well as the relevant graphics and drawing software are required, as well as a good command of written and spoken English
About the chair:
The chair offers the opportunity to research space itself and to view and design it with a truly integrative approach. Spatial research should look at the near future in particular and seek and test answers in terms of the use, materiality and impact of space on society and the communication of the instruments available.

DELTA
Following a design studio organized by the chair, the DELTA-Forum has been realized as a design-build project. From now on, it will serve as a space for the research project DELTA as a space for communicating and presenting their project goals on the Lichtwiese campus of TU Darmstadt, who is as an important partner in the project.
