The Institute of Art and Architecture (IKA) is seeking students interested in investing in the future of architecture. The IKA understands architecture as an intellectual and ideal construct, coupled with economic, political, and social forces. Architecture professionals must therefore be attentive and curious, innovative, inventive, but also critical.
The IKA offers students and teachers the space to experiment with ideas in an exploratory manner and to test their validity and usability in practice. Teaching languages of the three-year bachelor's degree in architecture (BArch) and the four-semester master's degree in architecture (MArch) are both English and German.
The architectural education is based on five platforms in which current discourses are negotiated across the board:
Analog Digital Production (ADP) / Supporting Construction Material Technology (CMT) / Ecology Sustainability Cultural Heritage (ESC) / History Theory Criticism (HTC) / Geography Landscapes Cities (GLC).
