For the second time the Department of Architecture (D-Arch) of ETH Zurich is looking for innovative approaches for studio teaching in architectural design. This call is open to independent architects. Application deadline is August 30, 2024.
The D-Arch is looking for upcoming, speculative, and innovative positions engaging with the challenges facing the future of the built environment. Send us your teaching statement on maximum one page describing how you want to engage with pressing topics and how they will shape the architecture of tomorrow. The statement should also include a teaching methodology to engage with the students and prepare them to be responsible actors in the future of the discipline of architecture.
Four applications from independent architects or architectural collectives will be selected to teach a design studio of 25 students on campus for two days a week as Guest Lecturers for the duration of one semester between Fall 2025 and Spring 2027.
Conditions are that each applicant must be younger than 45 years old, can only apply with one team and doesn’t have more than 2 years of teaching experience in independently leading a design studio at any other faculty. If applying in teams, the team must contain at least one practicing architect.
Your application must contain: 1 A4 Teaching Statement, 1 A4 CVs of all involved persons applying, 2 A4 Reference projects that engage with the topics covered in the teaching statement. International applicants must submit a proposal for sustainable travelling.
