The DDC AWARD 2025 – an interdisciplinary platform for good design and architecture since 1989. Design shapes societies, values, and realities of life. We are living in challenging times. A time of crises and change. For us as a society, this is one of the greatest stress tests of recent decades. What role does design play in this time? Where can design mediate and, above all, promote, initiate, critically question, and document dialogue?

The DDC AWARD 2025 is both an award and a platform that showcases the transformative power of design. The DDC AWARD 2025 demonstrates how design acts between aesthetics, function, and social change. Expert juries (from 12 categories) award in gold, silver, and bronze. Each expert jury recommends a project to an Impact Jury. Within this jury, Impact Advisory Board members from business, society, politics, and design decide which projects demonstrate ethical and systemic relevance. As principles of a regenerative society, we draw on the ethics of permaculture: responsible treatment of the earth, responsible treatment of people, limiting consumption and growth, and distribution of surpluses.

In a democratic dialogue with the applicants, the Impact Jury will award (up to three) DDC Grand Prix(s). The 2025 DDC AWARDS will be presented in a ceremonial and public ceremony at the DDC Gala on November 14, 2025, in Wiesbaden (Museum Reinhard Ernst).
