The association wished to have an artist design a new pigeon loft that would not only serve as a breeding facility but also function as an educational space to spark the curiosity of younger generations. For her futuristic capsule design, Matali Crasset looked to the past, drawing inspiration from vernacular pigeon lofts recorded in ancient Egypt. Going beyond the simple task of devising a home for the birds, she crafted a new ecology of co-existence between pigeons and humans that breathes new life into this time-honored tradition.
