University positions (d/w/m) in the field of Architecture City Economy

Two 75% positions (EG 13 TV-H) starting October 2022 at Prof. Dr. Gabu Heindl, Universität Kassel; application deadline September 4, 2022

ARCHITECTURE CITY ECONOMY | On the future of building industry and project development: We link social and ecological aspects of the construction industry, economic and housing crisis, ownership and affordability, climate and distributive justice.

In the department "ARCHITECTURE CITY ECOCONOMY | Construction Industry and Project Development" at the Faculty 06 Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Planning at the University of Kassel, we deal with the analysis and communication of political-economic framework conditions of architecture and urban development. As a forum for socio-ecological building industry and project development, we want to convey the connections between sociological, economic and spatial planning parameters and develop alternatives for the production of space.

Construction economy is facing a radical change in the face of housing crisis, land consumption and scarcity of resources, as well as a self-critical reconceptualization under the sign of commons, post-growth and a new concept of economy. The department aims to research structural conditions as well as paths for the transformation of structures towards a socio-ecological construction industry and to make creative contributions to this end.

The design- and research-centered department works between theory-based practice and practice-based theory. Designers* and/or researchers* are sought.
