The Watcher & The Slope

Ola Hassanain’s series The Watcher asks how people preserve their ways of life amid ongoing ecological and political crises. In Sudan, war, flooding, resource extraction, and the collapse of infrastructure are deeply intertwined. Catastrophe is not an exceptional event but rather an ongoing condition that transforms landscapes as profoundly as it reshapes the ways people live together.
