Renovation Akademie der Künste Hanseatenweg

In 2009, the Berlin-based firm Brenne Architekten was tasked with renovating the Akademie der Künste (Academy of Arts) building in Berlin’s Hansaviertel district. Designed in 1960 by Werner Düttmann and Sabine Schumann in the wake of the 1957 International Building Exhibition (“Interbau”) and awarded landmark status in 1995, the building is an ensemble comprising three distinct sections.
